women scientists spend years in school learning and developing their
unique scientific knowledge, skills, curiosity and passion, little time
is left to develop critical soft skills, to understand how to leverage
basic business concepts, and to ensure that one’s good ideas get the
support to be pursued in the laboratory. This workshop enables
participating scientists to understand and implement five areas which
will enable unabated career progress. Participants will self assess and
develop an action plan from concepts learned in the workshop.
Learning Objectives1.
Participants already have the fundamentals of great science, they will
leave the workshop embracing five new focus areas to advance their
career.
2. Each participant will assess where they are and develop a high level action plan for implementation.
3.
Each participant will develop a communication script to begin a dialog
with their boss on where they feel their own gaps exist and how they
want to engage their organization to help them close those gaps.
