Interested in helping to plan events for AWIS LAVC?
If you want to help grow our chapter, one of the best ways is to participate in our planning meetings. We hold monthly meetings via teleconference to discuss future events and chapter business.
Meetings are currently scheduled for every third Tuesday of the month at 8pm. If you’d like to listen in or even throw in your own ideas, please contact us at email@example.com to ensure that you are added to the planning committee email list.
Have you been looking for a way to get involved? The AWIS Los Angeles-Ventura County Chapter is looking for a few volunteers to help us remain connected. If you would like to interact with energetic, know-how women who want to make a difference, this is the opportunity for you! You will expand your network and help other women scientists in their career development. Service in areas related to your profession is also an excellent way to promote yourself in your resumes and CVs.
Position – Monthly Coffee Club Coordinator
The duties would involve acting as a contact person for interested attendees, reporting attendance to the chapter, and advertising the get together in your area. The coffee clubs are relaxed opportunities for our members in a particular geographic area to network and discuss any topic of interest.
Position – Student Membership Coordinator
The main responsibilities for this position involve tracking student member information and payments as well as sending welcome emails to new members. This position is a great way to be involved with minimal time commitment.
Interested volunteers should contact firstname.lastname@example.org or fill out our volunteer form.
